Position Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Area Sales Manager (ASM) to lead and expand our General Trade (GT) business across Karnataka. The ideal candidate will have strong exposure to the Pet Industry / Pharma / OTC segment, hands-on field experience, and the capability to build the market from scratch, including distributor appointment, territory structuring, and team development.

Responsibilities
  • Drive sales growth and market penetration across the assigned Karnataka territory.
  • Develop and manage the entire distributor network across the region, including identification, appointment, and performance management.
  • Design and execute belt plans and beat plans to ensure optimal market coverage and productivity.
  • Lead, coach, and manage a field force comprising ASEs, TSIs, and ISRs.
  • Work closely with the ground team to ensure successful product launch in General Trade (GT).
  • Monitor primary and secondary sales, achieve monthly/quarterly targets, and ensure effective execution.
  • Conduct regular field visits to review market execution, distributor operations, and team performance.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to drive actionable insights and strategic decisions.
  • Prepare and present sales reports, reviews, and presentations using MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as marketing, supply chain, and finance for smooth operations.
What You Will Gain
  • Industry Background: Experience in Pet Industry / Pharmaceutical / OTC segments is mandatory.
  • Territory Knowledge: Strong understanding of the entire Karnataka market, including distributor requirements and GT dynamics.
  • Planning Expertise: Proven experience in belt planning and beat planning.
  • Team Handling: Prior experience managing a team of ASEs, TSIs, and ISRs.
  • Age Criteria: Maximum age 35 years.
  • Hands-on Approach: Willingness to work extensively in the field and build the business from the ground up.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and convincing abilities.
  • Education: Graduate (minimum qualification).
